Sue Mathias is an experienced professional who has been teaching and consulting in English as a second language (ESL) for over 15 years. She holds master’s degrees both in teaching ESL and in foreign language education, with a focus on Japanese.
With an undergraduate degree in finance and Japanese, Sue attended graduate school in Tokyo, where she discovered her passion for language and teaching. She spent the first decade of her professional career in a corporate environment, working in Europe and Asia. This experience has been a tremendous asset in understanding the linguistic and cultural needs and demands on the professional who is working in a second or other language.
Sue has been working in the Triangle for the past decade with a variety of academic and professional clients, addressing their English language needs in the areas of accent modification, professional writing, presentations, and client interactions.
